Program types

1. Four types of programs are offered: four-year day and evening bachelor’s degree programs , a two-year weekend bachelor’s degree program , and a two-year weekend associate degree program .
2. Total credits for graduation from a four-year program：128 credits, including 24 credits on liberal required courses, 68 credits on professional required courses, and at least 36 credits on elective courses.
3. Total credits for graduation from a two-year program: 80 credits, including 20 credits on liberal required courses, 46 credits on professional required courses and at least 14 credits on elective courses.
4. The tuition for a semester (two semesters a year) is about NTD 48,ooo.

Educational objectives

The aim of the Department is to provide students with professional knowledge and skills in creative art design and digital technology as well as the ability to combine both of them with a special emphasis on creative computer-arts, 2D and 3D animation, video game production, digital content development and internet media project design. The Department organizes its courses into three area-based tracks for students to choose according to their interests: computer animation, visual special effects, and video game design.

Departmental features

The Department lay stress on students’ creative thinking and technological integration ability. Cooperating with the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, Department of Management Information System, and the Department of Business Administration, we offer a Digital Content Creation program so as to enhance students’ creativity and to integrate humanism into advanced technology. Our curriculum focus is primarily on video game design and computer animation. In addition, we emphasize the aesthetic foundation for animation and visual special effects. In order to promote industry-academy cooperation, we have established close cooperative relationships with major enterprises in the digital content industry and participated in international exhibitions.

Facilities in the Department include 2 Multimedia Classrooms, 1 Digital Video/Audio Production Classroom, 1 Figure Design Classroom. In addition, there are a Virtual Film Studio, a Motion Capture Lab, a Recording Studio, an Animation/FX Lab, and a Video Game Development Lab.

Student career development

After graduation, students enjoy a broad range of career opportunities. They may pursue careers in computer animation, video games, new-media arts, web design, commercial design, news communication, e-commerce, e-learning, digital archives, and so on. In addition, they may pursue advanced studies in related fields at home or abroad.
