Hwa Hsia University of Technology
|
Program Types |
Five types of programs are offered: four-year day and evening bachelor’s degree programs for vocational senior high school graduates, a two-year bachelor’s degree program for junior college graduates, a five-year associate degree program for junior high school graduates, and a two-year evening associate degree program for vocational senior high school graduates. |
Educational Objectives |
The Department provides students with comprehensive knowledge and professional skills in electrical engineering with an emphasis on monitoring, communication, and energy conservation. |
Departmental Features |
“Energy technology” and “intelligent living technology” are distinguishing features of the department. In order to deepen and broaden students’ learning, the students are taught using an original pedagogic strategy—Chen’s Electrical Unifying Approach, invented by Professor Chung-Cheng Chen, to stimulate their creativity and strengthen their learning motivation. Developing goals of the Department include energy engineering, control engineering, sensor systems, communication systems and computer applications with an emphasis on areas such as energy monitoring technique, mechatronics and automation, applications of sensors, electrical machine control, microprocessor interface applications and telecommunication circuit design. Moreover, the department has the honors of receiving certification from the Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan (IEET) and of implementing two distinguishing paragon projects for the Ministry of Education (MOE)─“Integrated Assets and Property Management Platform” and “Intelligent Robotic Invented Integration.” and one recycling technology gifted project for the Ministry of Education |
Departmental Facilities |
The department provides students and faculty members with experiment, research, project work, certification training, and tutoring environments. It has 13 teaching-oriented laboratories, 4 specialty laboratories (intelligent monitoring specialty laboratory, energy-application specialty laboratory, Chen’s electrical unifying approach specialty laboratory, and solar energy laboratory), 6 monographic rooms, and 1 competitions studio. Twenty-one faculty research rooms are equipped for teaching, research and counseling. |
Staff |
3 professors, 5 associate professors, 5 assistant professors, 6 lecturers |
Student Career Development |
Students who want to continue their education in electrical engineering or other related fields after graduation have ample opportunities to get into graduate school for universities or colleges offering graduate programs in electrical engineering or other related fields both at home and abroad. In contrast, students who seek employment after graduation may engage in electric power systems, electric machine control, computer software/hardware design, communication systems, mechatronics systems, energy applications, etc., and pursue careers in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, automation engineering, hydropower engineering, solar technology engineering, or microcomputer engineering. |
